Children engage in imaginative play, building social skills and creativity through guided activities.
We combine our 3-5 year olds in one group keeping our child to adult ratio 7 to 1. This allows our younger explorers to self direct their learning, choosing their centers, and gives us time to work one on one with our children heading to kindergarten. During this center time we work on pencil grip, early literacy and numeracy and name writing. Building background knowledge and vocabulary is our goal as it acts as mental scaffolding. It lifts cognitive load, allowing children to instantly make sense of new vocabulary, easily fill in unstated context, and fuel higher-order critical thinking.
